New England Camp Cedarbrook depends on its friends and supporters—individuals and churches—to keep our ministry vital. We have deliberately chosen to keep our fees affordable for nearly all campers, so contributions are needed to fill the gap not met by camper fees. Donations replenish the campership fund, which annually awards nearly $20,000 to campers with financial need. Contributions also fund capital improvement projects and long-term maintenance needs. All financial contributions are tax-deductible.
You may designate your tax-deductible gift for the fund of your choice: campership fund, staff scholarships, general operating expenses, or capital projects. Donors who commit to making monthly contributions help keep the books balanced year-round and enable the camp board of directors to respond to needs as they arise.
New England Camp Cedarbrook is incorporated in the State of Maine as not-for-profit, designated by the IRS as a 501(c)3 charitable organization. Therefore, all contributions to the Cedarbrook ministry—both financial, as well as goods or expert services—are tax-deductible. Donors will receive a receipt for all gifts.
Not every child who wants to attend Camp Cedarbrook comes from a family with the financial resources to make that possible. In this economic climate, families face a variety of difficulties that keep summer camp attendance out of reach, including unemployment, underemployment, housing concerns, illness, and more. The NECC leadership hates to see any child miss out on a week at camp because of the inability to pay the full fee. For this reason, the campership fund exists to fill the gap between the camper fee and the family’s ability to pay. Every summer, dozens of campers are able to attend camp due to the generosity of donors. Your gift of any amount, up to the full cost of a week at camp, will make a lasting difference in a child’s life.
Not everyone is able to make a cash contribution, but they still have a desire to support the Cedarbrook ministry. There are two other ways in which donors may give generously.
Some donations come in the form of promises for the future. You can be part of maintaining the legacy of New England Camp Cedarbrook by including the camp in your will. Planned gifts can be made in cash, real estate, stocks, bonds, personal property or life insurance. One of the simplest planned gifts is a bequest through your will in which you designate either a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate after other disbursements. In addition to supporting New England Camp Cedarbrook, it serves as an example to your heirs of the values you hold dear. A bequest also can reduce the amount of your taxable estate, which may increase the actual amount available to loved ones. If you have already planned to give in this way, please remember to update your will to include our new name.
